Curriculum- The Power of Potential

St John’s Wood Pre-Preparatory School is a non-selective school. Our Curriculum reflects the ethos of our school: To nurture, care and develop the potential of the individual child. To create opportunity to reflect, expand and enjoy learning. The ethos and reputation we have a practice makes us a successful feeder school for the London Public Day Schools. We are in contact with schools in the area, learning and increasing our knowledge base.

Children starting at the school in the Early Years have ahead start when they

arrive in Year One and Two. It is at this stage that the Curriculum becomes very structured with academic mornings and creative and physical development in the afternoons. Friday afternoons are dedicated Topics days. Our Curriculum is a dynamic document reflecting an holistic approach to teaching. The Curriculum and Policies are available for the perusal of our parents.

English as an Additional Language:

We have a policy of induction and integration for pupils with EAL. Provision is made in the curriculum

to support pupils and they access to all aspects of the learning experience.

Special Educational Needs:

As a school we will try to meet the needs of all the children with Special Educational Needs at our school. We have a policy of inclusion and non-selection. We will endeavour to include children as far as our premises and resources allow. Parents will play an important role in supporting their child’s education at our school.

Both these policies are available from the school office.
