Parents have a major role to play in their children’s education, and have their child for a very formative three years before the child comes to school. The foundations for the children’s speech, listening skills and independence are already laid.
However, when the child starts school, the school does not take over these responsibilities from parents but aims to reinforce parental foundations and provide a more formal and academic framework for children to continue their development.
Close contact is kept between parents and school to ensure we understand each other aims, ambitious and difficulties and to communicate as necessary regarding the children’s strengths and weaknesses. All parents are invited to meet their child’s teacher twice yearly to discuss general progress. In addition parents or teachers may request a meeting to discuss any specific concerns whenever they deem it necessary. Regular class group meetings are also held. A comprehensive, written report is presented at the end of the summer term.
