Here are some snippets of writing from Year 2 discussing their memories of their time at school:
"I have been here since Nursery. My favourite thing I have done in Nursery is phonics because we get to sound words out… In Reception I was scared of jumping into the deep water then I got used to it… I’m excited to go to my new school South Hampsted."
"I have been in SJWPPS since Nursery… When I moved to Reception my favourite thing was when we got to go out and play in the park. I liked my teachers in Reception and I still do… I’m excited to going to UCS next year."
"I have been at SJWPPS since Nursery. The thing I liked was playing with Zara in playtime… I also liked painting… I am excited about my new school, City of London School for Girls… I think my favourite subject will be art."
"I have been in SJWPPS since Nursery… In Reception my favourite subject was my tricky words test… In sports day I did the egg and spoon race… I am excited to go to St Paul’s Junior School but I’ll miss this school too."
"I started SJWPPS since Reception. My favourite subject was playtime in Reception. In Year Two my favourite subject was learning in maths. My next school is University College School. I’m super excited but I think I will miss SJWPPS."
"I have been in SJWPPS since Nursery. My favourite thing in Nursery was music... My favourite thing in Year 1 was handwriting… Mr Ellis was funny at community time, but not after. I’m excited to go to my new school which is City of London School for Girls."

"I have been in SJWPPS since Nursery… In Reception I remember running away from Mrs Shah at playtime. She could not catch me because I was too fast… my favourite subjects are History, Maths, Reading, Science and Handwriting… I am going to St Paul’s Juniors."
"I have been in SJWPPS since Reception. When I had my first day in Reception I made my first friend… I made lots of new friends… I am looking forward to making new friends and go to Westminster but I don’t want to leave SJWPPS."
"I started SJWPPS in Year One. The thing I liked most was art. We could do painting and projects… The Lunches are tasty but not all of them are. I like playtime because we can play football. I’m excited of going to my new school. I am going to University College School."
Some career thoughts from a previous Year 2 class.
Lucie said “When I grow up I would like to be a nurse and take care of ill people. I will have to study medicine at university and improve my knowledge of body parts. I want to do this job to help sick people. I will be good at this because I know some things already and like taking care of people.” Lucie went on to City of London School for Girls |
Ines said “When I grow up I want to be a paleontologist. I will have to study very hard at university. I will have to travel the world to discover fossils and other things. I will have to improve in learning how to use an x-ray to find what animal it is but I am good at digging and finding things.” Ines went on to South Hampstead High School. |
Kaja said “When I grow up I want to be a ballet dancer because I can travel the world, dance at the same time and follow in the footsteps of other famous ballerinas. I want to do it because it would make me more flexible. I’ve got strong muscles in my hands and legs but would really have to improve my posture and learn how to do the splits. Kaja went on to South Hampstead High School. |

I will be good at it because I know some things that are poisonous but I’ll have to improve because some things I don’t know are poisonous and I need to know the elements of the periodic table.” Lucien went on to Latymer Prep School. |
Amelia said “When I grow up I want to be an artist. I will have to study colours and paints. I will use oil paint and will paint different colourful pictures. I want to do it because I love art and am good at drawing and painting. If I want to be a good artist I will have to improve at colour mixing. I am inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’. Amelia went on to North London Collegiate School. |
